Gensler appointed lead architects for African Investment Fund.

The world’s leading architectural firm Gensler is to be appointed to be lead architects for The African Investment Fund, working alongside secondary, tertiary and other architects, Lord Foster + Associates, Leon Krier, British Land and South African based Boogertman. The African Investment Fund will invest five trillion pounds into Nigeria creating a new city or city extension, five trillion has been put aside as an overall budget as Northrup Drummond Chairman Vincent Abrams want’s the scheme to be special.

I thought I would invest five trillion into the scheme which is a lot when you consider the total asset and land value of London is approximately 5.2 trillion pounds and the total asset and land value of New York is 3.6 trillion dollars.

I envision a scheme which will totally change the perception, architectural landscape and aspirations of Nigeria’s people, the scheme will be classical in style and rival Monaco, Paris and New York. There are many institutions which will be founded in Nigeria including ABC or Africa Broadcasting Channel which will deliver the most high quality news and be the most modern studios ever built, it will contain studios for all 54 African countries and be administrated by the BBC.

Also a new metro will be built in Lagos as well as a train terminus which will reach seven of Nigeria’s most populous cities. We have received around 500.000 enquiries from large to medium to small businesses like Goldman Sachs, Starbucks, The James Dyson Foundation, INSEAD The International Business School, Princeton, Yale and many others.

Many new institutions will be founded by The Pauline Perry Foundation for example The National Nigerian Theatre, The Olori Opera House, ballrooms, schools of classical instruments, The National Museum of Nigeria.

Crowning the scheme will be the world’s tallest building which will be placed on Eko Atlantic, a piece of reclaimed land from the Atlantic Ocean, adjacent to Victoria Island, Lagos. It will be placed in a new business district alongside life sciences and innovation hubs.
