Virgin Group one of 500.000 companies to invest in Nigeria

The Virgin Group is a British multinational investment conglomerate founded by Sir Richard Branson, founded in 1970 evolving into a branded portfolio of over 40 companies spanning sectors such as travel, leisure, health, wellness, telecommunications, media, brand licensing, loyalty, and real estate operating across five continents. Led by CEO Josh Bayliss, It emphasizes independent operation of subsidiaries while leveraging the Virgin brand to challenge established markets through innovation and customer-centric disruption, as seen in successes like Virgin Atlantic airlines.

It is one of around 500.000 companies who have registered to invest in Nigeria on Northrup’s African Investment Fund, the level of investment realised will transform Nigeria’s economy bringing new jobs, new educational institutions, new hospitality and media amenities, as well as new hospitals and private clinics which, will be among the best in the world.

The Virgin Group has expressed an interest in involvement in the following areas of business.

Virgin Head Office

Virgin Group will build a new headquarters for Africa from which the entire continent can be reached, it will sit in the new city in a purpose built sky scraper alongside others. It will house modern offices and a purpose built radio station for the continent, as part of Virgin Radio.

Virgin Hotel

Virgin Hotels, a luxury lifestyle hospitality brand offers stylish, tech-forward, and ‘’un-stuffy" hotel experiences. Known for removing hidden fees and focusing on design, they feature unique Chamber" room layouts, vibrant social spaces, and local culture immersion they will operate with other hotel brands such as The Dorchester Collection, Taj Hotels and The Oetker Collection.

Virgin Gym

There will be a number of purpose built gyms, Virgin are the premiere gym group in London and will design from scratch with their architects modern gyms with the best equipment, amenities and swimming pools.

Virgin Cruises

Virgin Voyages is an award-winning cruise line which offers a modern, luxury, and superyacht - inspired" experience, It caters to travellers seeking a sophisticated vacation with Michelin-star chef-curated dining, immersive entertainment, and inclusive, high-value amenities.

There will be a new cruise line terminus for Lagos into the new city so the flow of tourists will increase to see the new classical architecture, visit parks and the world’s tallest building.

New branch locations will be located throughout Lagos and ultimately Nigeria allowing customers to purchase dongles or WIFI routers which need only a sim and be plugged into the wall in order for a customer to access 5G broadband.
